Backstreet Queries #3

That time of the month again. Fun questions and even funner answers.

Do you have any particular favorite parts of music videos?
Nick when he sings 'Tell me Why' in the I Want It That Way video.
What's your favorite choreography?
Everybody dance. Its classic. It's one you can bust out in the middle of a party and people will actually recognize.
What's one thing you DON'T like about the Backstreet Boys.
Up until recently I didn't really have an answer to this question. I know they aren't perfect, and I'm okay with that. I like them- imperfections and all. But having been exposed to a bit more of the New Kids in recent months, I actually have a standard of comparison now. I've been able to see some new personalities and how other bands act with their fans. So my answer to this question is that I wish they were a bit more interactive with the fans and less afraid of us. I wouldn't even classify this as something I don't like, but perhaps an area for improvement. They do a great job when they can, but a little more wouldn't kill them, right?
What's your weirdest Backstreet dream?
I don't have an incredibly exciting answer to this. They do pop into my dreams every now and then, but nothing super out of the ordinary. Just every day events but with backstreet in them. Hopefully you all have some better answers.
What are your thoughts on fanfic?
I used to read fanfic back in middle school and then wanted to try my hand at writing my own once. I think I got a half page in and stopped writing because I realized I didn't have a clue what I was doing. And it felt weird to write about them in that capacity. And speaking of fanfic, here is one of my favorite videos of Nick's opinion on fanfic. Priceless reaction. Question starts at 20 seconds in.
 Nick- "Ooooh, its sexual?!"

You're favorite BSB clothing or accessory?
I suppose my This is Us hoody. I love that thing. I even wear it in the summer months.

So I also want to give a shout out to my friend Sara for coming up with a bunch of these questions. We just enjoy asking each other these types of questions in our free time (that's normal, right??) She's come up with some really good ones that left me scratching my head. Some got me thinking so much that they're going to get a post of their own. So look for some of those fun questions in months to come. In the meantime, I recommend checking out her fanfic, if you're into that sort of thing. Even if you're not, its really good. Its an AJ story called This is Us. And I've never read a non-Nick story before, so that should speak to how good it is ;)

Backstreet Queries #2

As promised, here is volume 2 of Backstreet Queries. Enjoy!

What do you REALLY think of Nsync?
I started off as a BSB fan and then was introduced to Nsync. I first thought, "hey another band similar to BSB. Let me give this a try" Which i did. I have their first 2 albums I think. They have some catchy songs. But then I realized you were only supposed to like one or the other. And BSB won, hands down. I also cant stand Justin. His voice sounds like a dying cat! Ugh. No thank you.
What's been the best concert you've been to and why?
This is a tough one because I feel like I'm being asked to pick my favorite child (even though I don't have any kids). I feel like there are certain reasons why I like all of the concerts I've attended but there are a few more memorable ones. I'd say either the Miami acoustic show just because it was so different and casual from any concert I had been to before plus that was the first time I had met the boys. My other top contender is the Black & Blue concert because that's when I was at the height of my obsession back in the day and I was just in sheer awe to be breathing the same air as my idols. I've calmed down a lot since. Plus it was a great concert. Hooked ever since.
What is your most prized Backstreet possession?
I'd ay my old school VHS collection of all their TV appearances. I recorded everything I knew they'd be on and I'd be really upset if something ever happened to those tapes. In fact, those tapes are the sole reason I still have a VCR in my bedroom.
Would you really marry or "get with" a Backstreet Boy if you had the opportunity (and this assumes the married ones were single)?
I can honestly say I would not on either account. I wouldn't want to marry one of them and deal with the lifestyle. I see what their significant others deal with- and there's no way I could deal with thousands of girls hating on me every day. I also wouldn't want to even hook up with one of them. It just doesn't do it for me. The most I would want is a hug. I think because I've looked up to them for so long- it would just be too weird for me. I feel it would really tarnish what I have with them now. I like that fan/idol relationship; its a ton of fun! I don't want that to change.
What do you miss most about the earlier Backstreet years?
I miss how much more they were on TV and had a ton more specials. They used to have all these album release specials, did talk shows, concert specials, etc. Now its like gold if we see Howie on E! for 3 minutes talking about other boy bands.
What do you like most about the more recent Backstreet years?
Hands down they are more accessible. They do the VIP packages, cruises, and after parties so we actually get a chance to meet them (if you're rich of course). But at least they do it.
Another thing I enjoy more now in this backstreet era is being able to use to use the internet to feel more connected to the boys through social media as well as easily meet other fans.

Backstreet Queries #1

Well I just got home from 2 weeks in Italy and Switzerland and of course NKOTBSB. Such an amazing trip! I can't wait to tell you all about it. But it's going to take me a few days to catch up on things, post pics/vids, and write my review. So in the meantime, I'm kicking off a new series for you all- Backstreet Queries. I had a stroke of inspiration on my trip because my friends and I had a blast asking each other fun random Backstreet related questions. So I've decided I want to make this a monthly feature on my blog. At least that's my goal. So you can expect a new set of fun questions to kick off every month where we can get to know each other a little better.

So here goes nothing...

What is one song that you think should have been a single but wasn't?
I'll side with AJ on this one, I would've loved to see Don't Want You Back as a single. Not that I don't want The One as a single, but I'd like both.
What's one song that was a single that shouldn't have been?
Inconsolable. It was too similar to Incomplete and they had better songs on that album.
If the boys show up at your door and say they will sing one song to you a capella, what song do you choose?
I adore AJ's solo in I'll never break your heart and would absolutely die if he sang his first chorus to me. I feel similarly with Nick's opening line in All I Have to Give. So most likely one of those two songs. I would also love More than That or What makes you Different. Too many good songs to pick from!
What's your favorite Backstreet TV special?
Mine is the 2 hour Millennium release special that was on TRL. Games with fans, games amongst themselves, q&a, singing. It had it all!
Is there anything you would change about your favorite BSB?
Would I change anything about Nick? Not too much. Right now I think he looks homeless and think he needs to shave and cut his hair! But that's minor. I suppose the only thing I would change about him is I wish he interacted a little better with the fans. Howie is always stopping to take pics and autographs, etc and I wish Nick was just as good as Howie.
How did you initially become a BSB fan?
I got the first Backstreet Boy album as a gift and started listening. I really enjoyed it, but I think what really hooked me in was the millennium album and all the specials and hoopla that surrounded it. I got to see the boys behind the music and that's why I fell in love.
How would you spend your dream day with BSB?
My dream day with BSB would probably be spent in Disney World. What better way to have fun with them than at the most magical place on earth? I would love sitting next to the boys on a roller coaster or seeing Brian do his Donald Duck voice with Donald.
My other dream day would consist of being on a cruise with them, but not a Backstreet cruise. Just a good ole fashioned regular cruise where I could get dressed up and have a nice dinner, relax on the beach (read as shirtless backstreet boys), go to a show, play games, go in the hot tub (more shirtless backstreet boys), go dancing in the evening. Its got it all!

Your turn to answer! Feel free to post your answers below or link over to your blog.
